Positioning

Bunnkr is a channel you watch through a retro TV sitting inside a pastel isometric miniroom. Everything happens on one screen with no page scroll: turn the TV on, swap rooms, and tap objects on the desk to open the lineup or the about sheet. It is less a service for picking what to watch and more one you leave running.

Problem Statement

Most video services keep asking the viewer what to watch next, and time spent scanning a grid of thumbnails can rival time spent actually watching. There is a separate appetite for a screen that simply keeps going, something to leave on beside you. Bunnkr targets that slot by removing the choice altogether and putting the fun back into the space the screen sits in.

• Viewers who want a screen running alongside them: People looking for something to leave on while working or resting
• Decorators from the miniroom era: People who enjoy choosing and arranging a space of their own
• K-pop stage-video watchers: People who want girl-group, boy-group, and retro clips playing back to back

Core User Flow

• A room is drawn on arrival: Each visit assigns one of the free rooms at random, with the page background matched to it
• Turn on the TV: Video is projected onto the CRT screen inside the room artwork and starts playing
• Tap objects to read: The lineup, the cast, and the about text live in sheets opened by tapping objects on the desk
• Decorate and swap: Place parts to save your own room, and unlock paid rooms with credits

Key Features

• Gapless always-on channel: An A/B double buffer preloads the next item so transitions never cut to black
• Reshuffled every cycle: Order is redrawn each time around, with same-team items spread apart
• Three channels: Girl group, boy group, and retro, switchable to suit the mood
• Fifteen minirooms: Nine free and six credit-unlocked, each with its own background color, lighting, and screen curvature
• Room decorating: Arrange 42 parts into slots, save them, and share via a ?u= link
• Desk widgets: On wider screens, widgets like a clock and notes flow onto the desk and can be dragged loose
• Three languages: Separate Korean, English, and Japanese pages

Design Notes

• Nothing to choose: The playlist is never handed to the viewer; the client rebuilds the schedule from scratch each cycle, with no server involved
• A space, not a player: Framing it as a TV inside a room makes staying the point, rather than finishing something
• One screen, no scroll: All reading material sits inside sheets opened from objects in the room, so the page itself never scrolls
• Serverless by design: No Cloud Functions, no Admin SDK, no admin page. Scheduling is done by a local script

• Frontend: Astro 7 (static build), React 19 islands
• Hosting: Firebase Hosting (main push → GitHub Actions deploy)
• Database: Firestore named DB (bunn, asia-northeast3)
• Auth: Firebase Auth (Google sign-in, for saving a room)
• Rendering: CSS matrix3d projection to fit video onto the TV screen in the artwork
• Analytics: Google Analytics
