Alley Cat Band

What it is

Alley Cat Band is a vertical rhythm game starring a punk band of neighborhood street cats. Black tiles slide down three lanes from the record at the top of the screen. Hit them on the line and the tuxedo drummer and the ginger guitarist rock out on every beat.

How to play

• Tap: tap each tile as it reaches the line.
• Hold: hold long tiles to the end. If a long tile ends in an arrow, keep holding and swipe that way to finish it.
• Swipe: swipe arrow tiles in the direction they point.
• Judgments and stars: the closer you are to the beat, the closer you get to PERFECT+. Earn up to five stars per song.
• Life: miss too often and your life runs out and the stage stops.

Key features

• Songs made for the band: original songs written for this game, from a 100 BPM starter track to a 187 BPM rush. Open the song list and the band's theme song, Nyan Riot, plays first. New songs join the list without an app update.
• Three difficulties: every song comes in Easy, Normal and Hard. Hard adds two-lane hits and taps while you hold a long tile.
• Song picker: swipe the record to flip through songs, roll the dice for a random pick and heart your favorites. Change the difficulty and the band's mood changes too.
• Nyan Fever: from a 50 combo until you miss, the stage turns rainbow and the band puts on sunglasses. No misses means FULL COMBO, and every hit PERFECT+ means ALL PURRFECT.
• Fish and daily missions: earn fish every song. Three daily missions, streak gifts and a song of the day that pays double keep every day fresh. Spend fish on paw stamps and stage colors, or to keep playing once when your life runs out.
• Tutorial: a short tutorial set to the theme song teaches the controls on first launch.
• Comfort settings: timing calibrates itself to your device after every song. You can tone down screen shake and flashes, and turn off vibration and the band's voice.
• Local saves: best scores and stars for each song, fish, cosmetics, settings and downloaded songs stay on your device. Downloaded songs play offline.

Pricing

Free to play with no in-app purchases and no account needed. Ads appear now and then when you return to the song list after finishing a song, never during play, while paused or when you retry. Songs download the first time you pick them. The game is in English.
